Notice of Resurfacing, July 19 & 20th

The intersection of Midway Blvd and King’s Highway will be resurfaced on Thursday, July 19 and Friday, July 20 as part of the final asphalt placement on Midway Blvd. During the resurfacing, the traffic pattern will be temporarily altered with only one lane of travel in each direction at any given time.  Please be vigilant at all times when driving in this area. Motorists are to use EXTREME CAUTION and be mindful of the traffic control devices that are in place.  On behalf of road construction crews and the driving public, please drive safely.

Notice of Street Closures on Thursday, June 28

Short sections of Birchcrest Blvd., Hariet St., Alton Rd., Abscott St., Achilles St., and Hardey St., on the south side of Midway Blvd. will close this Thursday, June 28 for approximately 10 days. This short-term detour is necessary to replace curbing in the area. Motorists are asked to use the posted detour routes around the closures.  Motorists are asked to use the posted detour routes around the closures. Notice of New Traffic Pattern On Tuesday, June 26

Midway Blvd will be opened to its new configuration with one eastbound lane and one westbound lane separated by a median Tuesday June 26.  The traffic signal at the intersection of Midway Blvd and Beacon Drive will be operational.  All side streets will be opened to traffic with short periodic closures to complete construction activities.    Motorists are to use EXTREME CAUTION, and be vigilant to the proper direction of travel.  Side streets shall turn RIGHT ONLY where signs are posted.  On behalf of road construction crews and the driving public, please drive safely.

Achilles St. on N. Side to close for re-curbing

A short section of Achilles St., on the north side of Midway Blvd. will close for approximately 5 days starting Thursday, June 14. This short-term detour is necessary to replace curbing in the area. Residents may use McNamee Ave. and Abalom St. to access their homes. Work in this area is being conducted in conjunction with the Midway Boulevard (Phase 2) road widening project. Upon completion, Midway Boulevard will be a four lane roadway with center turn lanes, new sidewalks and a closed drainage system.  Construction is projected to be complete late 2018.      On behalf of road construction crews and everyone, please drive safely.

Sections of Hayworth and Alton to close Wed., May 30

A short section of Hayworth Rd., on the north side of Midway Blvd. will close for approximately one month starting Wednesday, May 30. Residents may use Sheehan Blvd. and Laramore Ave. to access their homes. Also, a short segment of Alton Rd. will be closed for approximately one month on the north side of Midway Blvd. beginning Wednesday, May 30. Residents may use Orlando Blvd. and Foote Ave. to access their homes. Meanwhile, areas of Sharpe St., Scotten St., Hariet St., Noble Terr., Page St., and short sections of Inverness St., and Abscott St. north of Midway will continue to be closed. Residents may use adjacent streets to access to their homes.  Pedestrians may use the new sidewalk on the north side of Midway Blvd., and the existing sidewalk on Sheehan Blvd.  See the Detours and Maps page for more information.

Upcoming Changes for Midway Traffic Patterns

Opening: Birchcrest Blvd., Sheehan Blvd., and Beacon Dr. Closing: Hariet and Abscott Streets       Birchcrest Blvd., Sheehan Blvd., and Beacon Dr., on the north side of Midway Blvd., are planned to be re-opened on April 23, 2018.        Furthermore, Abscott and Harriet Streets to the north side of Midway Blvd. will be closed to through traffic for approximately 2 months.      In addition, Sharpe St., Scotten St., as well as portions of Inverness St., Noble Terrace and Page Street, will remain closed.      Residents may use adjacent streets to access their homes.      All sidewalks on Midway Blvd. are now open.       Please see detour maps for more information.

Fri., Feb. 2 – Traffic Pattern Change, Street Closings and Re-openings

Starting Friday, Feb. 2, all two-way traffic on Midway Blvd. will be shifted to the south side of the new roadway from Sharpe St. to Kings Highway. Also, on Friday, Sharpe St., Scotten St., and Birchcrest Blvd., on the north side of Midway Blvd., will be closed for approximately 3 months. Residents are asked to use Harbor Blvd., and Dawson Ave. to access their homes. In addition, short sections of Sheehan Blvd., Noble Terrace and Page St. will be closed on the north side of Midway for approximately 3 months. Residents are asked to use Hariet St. or Hayworth Rd. and Laramore Ave. to access to their homes.  Also, on Friday, Feb. 2, Birchcrest Blvd. and Starlite Lane will be re-opened on the south side of Midway Blvd.  A dedicated pedestrian route will be provided for students along segments of Sheehan Blvd, Hariet St. and Midway Blvd. between Hariet St. and Hayworth Rd.

Birchcrest and Starlite intersecions close Jan. 11 for one month

Short sections of Starlite Lane and Birchcrest Blvd. on the south side of Midway Blvd. will be closed for approximately one month starting Thursday, Jan. 11, 2018. This closure is necessary to complete the road construction in those areas. Residents are asked to use the adjacent streets and intersections to access their homes. Please refer to the attached map for additional route information. Also, Hariet St., Conway Blvd., and Hayworth Rd. on the south of Midway Blvd. will re-open on the 11th.
